Introduction
NoAI Shield writes a machine-readable reservation into your images using the standardized IPTC/PLUS Data Mining field. Dashboard users can add optional visible, metadata, and experimental pixel layers. A Free account includes a downloadable dated PDF record. Paid plans add hosted record pages that remain available until the asset or account is deleted, subject to the service continuing to operate.
These docs cover the developer surface:
- Getting started — what the API does, access, pricing, and your first call.
- Authentication — API keys, the bearer header, key lifecycle.
- Endpoints —
POST /api/v1/protectandPOST /api/v1/verify, with examples in cURL, JavaScript, and Python. - Errors and limits — the error contract, status codes, and rate limits.
- Guides — mark a repository with one reviewable pull request, test the Chrome beta, and review planned connector status.
The honest baseline
Section titled “The honest baseline”One thing before you build: verdicts report only what the service can actually read from a file. The NoAI Shield name refers to a machine-readable rights-reservation signal and possible deterrent, not a technical barrier or guarantee that content will never be trained on. A reservation does not physically stop a system that ignores it.
